Physician education is central to the International Center of Limb Lengthening’s mission. Every day we advance the science of orthopedics through research and teaching. Since the founding of the International Center for Limb Lengthening, our internationally renowned doctors have taught thousands of doctors the latest techniques for treating the most complex of orthopedic conditions through:
- Orthopaedic Residency Program at Sinai Hospital
The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics offers a comprehensive 5-year residency program that gives residents the opportunity to learn all aspects of orthopedic treatment including pediatric and adult limb lengthening and bone deformity correction from the world-renowned surgeons at the International Center for Limb Lengthening. Upon successful completion of the residency program, the graduates will be eligible for board certification in orthopedic surgery.
- Clinical / Research Fellowship Program
The International Center for Limb Lengthening intensively trains doctors in limb lengthening and reconstruction, foot and ankle deformity correction and orthoplastics.
- Podiatric Residency Program
Each year residents come to train in limb lengthening and deformity correction at our teaching hospital. We offer a three-year specialized podiatric residency program in partnership with the VA Maryland Health Care System.
- Baltimore Limb Deformity Course
For over a quarter of a century, the Baltimore Limb Deformity Course has trained thousands of doctors from all over the world in limb lengthening and bone deformity correction techniques through lectures and hands-on labs.
- Essentials of Lower Extremity Reconstruction Course
The purpose of this two-day course – a combination of lectures and hands-on skills training – is to teach orthopedic residents and fellows the fundamentals of circular external fixation. Basic biomechanical principles, safe wire and pin placements, and appropriate osteotomy techniques will be presented. Faculty will also discuss patient management during and after fixator application. Proof of residency/fellowship status is required at time of registration; there is no charge for this course (travel/lodging are the responsibility of resident/fellow).
- Bone Ninja App for iPad
Bone Ninja is an iPad app teaching tool to help surgeons learn to analyze long bone deformities.
- Multiplier Mobile App
The Multiplier App for mobile devices automates calculations to predict mature height and bone length in children.
- Educational Limb Alignment Textbooks
