Jackson, a nine-year-old Canadian boy at the time this video was recorded, was diagnosed with Perthes, a rare childhood condition that affects the hip. Pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Shawn Standard at the International Center for Limb Lengthening is treating Jackson so he will be able to run, jump and play like his peers. You can find an update on Jackson’s story on his patient story page.
Please click here for the most up-to-date changes in our hospital visitor policies. As of March 25th at 7:00 AM, no visitors are allowed except for one designated parent per pediatric patient, or one designated visitor per emergency surgery patient; these visitors will need to wear a surgical mask.
Please note that elective surgeries and routine diagnostic tests are postponed until further notice; this does NOT apply to urgent or emergent procedures, which will be determined by a patient’s care team.
