Fibular Hemimelia New York Dr. Assayag
Primo was born with fibular hemimelia. His mom sought treatment in their local area, but didn’t feel confident with local doctors’ experience with her son’s condition. After ankle surgery last year, Primo is now undergoing lengthening surgery. His mom, Tina, shares, “We love Dr. Assayag and all the staff at RIAO [Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics] and Sinai Hospital. Everyone has been very supportive, and when I have concerns they listen to hear my worries instead of assuming they know my issue.”

When asked what she would share with another parent considering treatment at the International Center for Limb Lengthening, Tina responded, “Don’t hesitate. The doctors and staff are all very knowledgeable. Every[one] cares about my son’s well-being, and I have no doubt we are in the best hands.”
