Meet Grant, who was born with short arms and four fingers on each hand. He was missing the radius bone in both arms, a condition known as radial club hand. His mother was told there was nothing that could be done. Fortunately, his family brought him to an expert in treating this condition, pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Shawn Standard at the International Center for Limb Lengthening at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics. Grant is now happy and well on his way to a life his family once thought would never be possible.
Please click here for the most up-to-date changes in our hospital visitor policies. As of March 25th at 7:00 AM, no visitors are allowed except for one designated parent per pediatric patient, or one designated visitor per emergency surgery patient; these visitors will need to wear a surgical mask.
Please note that elective surgeries and routine diagnostic tests are postponed until further notice; this does NOT apply to urgent or emergent procedures, which will be determined by a patient’s care team.
