Emma has successfully overcome Perthes disease, a rare childhood condition that affects the hip, with the expertise of pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Shawn Standard at the International Center for Limb Lengthening. She is now able to enjoy playing soccer, swimming and horseback riding and has helped other children with Perthes by raising money for the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics’ Save-A-Limb Fund.

Please note that elective surgeries and routine diagnostic tests are postponed until further notice; this does NOT apply to urgent or emergent procedures, which will be determined by a patient’s care team.
